The WHL continued handing outs it year-end hardware and all-star teams on Thursday.
There weren’t many surprises. Travis Green, who took over the helm of the Portland Winterhawks from Mike Johnston when they were dinged for improper player benefits, probably deserved the nod in the West for coach of the year, but you had to know that wasn’t going to happen.

Calgary, AB – The Western Hockey League announced today the Eastern and Western Conference 2013 WHL Award Finalists. The WHL Player of the Year finalists will be named on Thursday, April 18th, 2013. The winners of these awards along with the WHL Player of the Year will be announced at the 2013 WHL Awards Luncheon in Calgary, Alberta on Wednesday, May 1st, 2013.
